Frequently asked
Questions

Business (Supervised) RPL is a Recognition of Prior Learning program designed for individuals working in administrative or project officer roles. It provides a pathway to achieve a nationally recognised business qualification based on skills and experience rather than formal study.

This RPL program covers work where individuals use well-developed administrative or project management skills to solve unpredictable problems, apply business solutions, and lead others with some responsibility for output. Roles often involve coordination, communication, and support for business operations.

Applicants typically need at least 3 years of relevant experience in a business or administration environment. The majority of this experience must be within the last 10 years to be considered current and valid for assessment.

You’ll need to submit documents that demonstrate your skills and experience, such as resumes, job descriptions, work samples, employment history, references, and any qualifications or certificates previously obtained.

Depending on your experience, Business (Supervised) RPL may lead to qualifications such as BSB40120 – Certificate IV in Business, BSB50120 – Diploma of Business, or BSB60120 – Advanced Diploma of Business.

The RPL process can be completed in as little as 2–4 weeks if you have all the required evidence and respond promptly to your assessor. The duration may vary depending on the completeness of your documentation.

Yes. Qualifications awarded through Business (Supervised) RPL are issued by Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and are nationally recognised across Australia.

Business RPL allows you to formalise your experience into a recognised qualification, save time and money by avoiding classroom study, improve job prospects, and meet employment or visa requirements.
